The ban on visiting the reserve poles, closed because of fires

Reserve management "poles" in the Krasnoyarsk region established by the rainy weather early lifted the ban on visiting tourist-excursion area of the reserve, which was closed because of the two fires.

As noted in the press release of the reserve, due to the fact that in the region to establish sustainable rainy weather was lowered fire rating class, the management of the reserve "Pillars" prematurely lifted the ban visiting tourist-excursion area (FER) of the reserve. Since the end of last week, the area re-opened for tourists. But the area of the buffer zone remains closed.

"Thus, the period of forced rest Reserve lasted 20 days and was the result of two fires in the tourist and excursion area (Chinese rock wall, Toad, Little). Their suppression lasted two days (June 14-15)," — said in a message.

State Reserve "Pillars" was established in June 1925. It is located on the right bank of the Yenisei River near the south-western outskirts of Krasnoyarsk, the area of "Pillars" — 47.2 thousand hectares. The reserve was established to protect the natural systems of the picturesque rocky massif natural boundary pillars. Its reserve identified three areas with different modes of protection: a closed area (42.213 thousand hectares), a buffer zone (3.332 thousand hectares), tourist-excursion area — FER (1,674 thousand hectares).

Tourist and sightseeing area, occupying 3.5% of the total area of the reserve. The total length of the network paths in the TER of about 67.5 kilometers. It provides access to all the rocks. A rough estimate of the reserve, the district central pillar annually attracts over 200,000 people.
