20 tons of herring washed up on the coast of Norway

In Norway, on the beach near Tromso Kvaenesa found more than 20 tons of dead herring — the last time such an event took place in the 80's of last century.

One of the first who discovered the dead fish was 44-year-old Jan-Petter Jorgensen, who decided to take a walk with your favorite dog on the beach. "Maybe the fish got into a zone with a small amount of oxygen, choking in fresh water and has been thrown out to the beach. Smell, of course, terrible," — said the man.

Scientists do not reject this theory, but does not exclude the other — that the fish washed ashore during a recent storm, or does it fall in the so-called trap, and after the water went down, the fish died, writes Daily Mail.
