About one million hectares of forest fire passed in 2012 — FFA

Area affected by fire in Russian forests is now about one million hectares, which is the same level as last year, and has not yet reached the level of a state of emergency in 2010, said on Monday the head of FFA adviser Nikolai Kovalev.

"The numbers about the same as last year: specifically on that date was 16.5 thousand fires and area affected by the fire, was also about a million hectares. If we take the previous year 2010, then, of course, was the area above and around the same number. But in Siberia in 2010 was more stable, there was a prolonged drought. Colleagues from Krasnoyarsk meteorologist reported that they have for a hundred years, there was a drought, "- Kovalev said at a news conference at RIA Novosti.

Total in Russia at present forest fires put out about five thousand people, including volunteers, about 50 aircraft and 500 vehicles.

Currently, the most difficult fire situation is developing in the forests of the Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk Krai.

In particular, according to the Federal Forest Service dispatcher on Monday morning in the Tomsk region there are 34 forest fires in the area of 10.2 hectares. Since the beginning of the fire season in the area was 426 forest fires in the area of 53.1 hectares. Take part in extinguishing 1,6 thousand people, 192 pieces of equipment and 20 aircraft.

As for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, on Monday morning where 83 forest fires are burning area 12.1 thousand hectares. They put out more than 1.2 thousand people, 202 pieces of equipment and 13 aircraft.
