Baltic Shipyard allowed to build giant nuclear icebreakers


    

OOO "Baltic Shipyard — ship" (CPB) has received a license from the RTN for the construction of floating nuclear power plants floating nuclear power plant project 20870 and icebreaker LK-60 Project 22220, said Wednesday the company.

These ships will be the largest and most powerful of all icebreakers built for today. The construction of the first three LC-60 in the budget Rosatomflota laid more than 90 billion rubles.

The tender for the construction of the first icebreaker will be held before the end of summer 2012. Ltd. "CES" is now the only company licensed RTN building these ships.

"This will give us an advantage in the tender," — said General Director of "CES" Alexander Voznesensky.

Floating nuclear power low power (floating NPP) project 20870 was developed by Rosatom order to supply power to remote areas. The station consists of a flush-self-propelled ice-class vessel with two KLT-40S.

Construction of the first floating power station "Academician Lomonosov", which is built for power Vilyuchinsk (Kamchatka) in order "Rosenergoatom", led JSC "Baltic Shipyard".

Today, her willingness amounts to 60%. In the near future the unfinished station will be transferred to the ownership of "Rosenergoatom", and then planned to sign the contract for its completion with "CES".
