Bekmambetov — best foreign film director in the U.S.

Russian film director, screenwriter and producer Timur Bekmambetov awarded the title of "Best Foreign Director" from the National Association of Theatre Owners USA (National Association of Theater Owners), reports The Hollywood Reporter.


?Officially, the title will go to the masters of Russian cinema during the second convention CinemaCon. The awarding ceremony will be held April 23, 2012.

According to a representative CinemaCon Mitch Noyhauser, Timur Bekmambetov has pronounced his own style.

"With some of the highest grossing films in Russian history, Timur Bekmambetov brings a unique narrative that is available for the perception of an international audience. In particular, his debut film "Peshawar Waltz" (1994) presented a really hard and realistic look at the war between Russia and Afghanistan, "- said Neuhauser.
