"It was the first substantive meeting of the General Dempsey with General Makarov since taking office as head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, "- said Maklney.
"They discussed issues of mutual enthusiasm regarding Afghanistan, Near East, including Syria, Asia-Pacific, and missile defense issues," — said in a statement.
