Commission ponder eliminating dump dead animals near Rostov

Authorities of the Rostov region created an interagency commission to develop measures to eliminate the huge dump dead animals in Kagalnitskaya district of Rostov region, told RIA Novosti on Thursday, a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.

Dump several tons of dead animals was formed in the village Wet Bath. Biowaste were brought there for disposal at the local "Kagalnitskaya animal health heat-recovery plant," but it did not have enough capacity to handle all volumes. In 2012, after a change of management at the plant landfill is not updated with new bio-waste, but not decreased. Local residents because of the smell repeatedly appealed to the prosecutor.

"Order of the Ministry of Agriculture approved the composition of the Commission from among the members of the Department for the Prevention and Emergency Response, Rostov region, regional Rospotrebnadzor, Rosselkhoznadzor and veterinary medicine, as well as the Regional Committee for Environmental Protection," — said the source.

He added that on Friday, the commission will come to the plant in order to understand the situation and to develop solutions to the current problems.

"To modernize the production capacity of the regional budget allocated 12 million rubles for the purchase and installation of technological equipment, which will increase the amount of feedstock. Before the end of January is expected to supply equipment," — he added.
