Fire destroyed 1.2 thousand hectares of forest in the Canaries

A fire raging the second day in the forests of the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, destroyed 1.2 thousand hectares of forest, of the danger area evacuated more than 50 people, said on Monday at the headquarters of disaster management in the Canary Islands.

In the fight with a big forest fire involving firefighters and dozens of volunteers, as well as seven helicopters and planes.

Fires so far failed to take full control. The main concern of the authorities is approaching forest fire to a national nature reserve Barranco del Infierno. On Sunday there were urgently evacuated 12 tourists on hiking in the conservation area.
