Nuclear submarine Severodvinsk was successfully tested at sea

The latest multipurpose nuclear submarine (NPS) "Severodvinsk" Project 885 has successfully passed the first factory tested at sea, reported online October 6 defense shipyard "Sevmash", which has built the submarine.
This is the first factory sea trials the lead ship of the project 885 "Ash"

On successful completion of the maiden voyage deputy general director of "Sevmash" Marat Abizhanovu White Sea and the deputy commander of the naval base Captain First Rank Mikhail Volozhinskaya reported commander Captain First Rank Sergei Mityaev.

Earlier it was reported that by the end of the year submarine "Severodvinsk" should enter into service of the Russian Navy. It is planned to build six submarines of this project.

Currently at the "Sevmash" in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk built a second submarine Project 885 "Kazan". Transfer of the fleet is planned for 2015.

Multipurpose nuclear submarine of the fourth generation Project 885 (code "Ash", according to NATO classification GRANAY) designed Petersburg Marine Engineering Bureau "Malachite".

"Kazan", like the "Severodvinsk" — double-hulled submarine-shaft with reduced acoustic field. Felling is streamlined oval shape, durable body is divided into ten sections. For the first time in the practice of the domestic shipbuilding torpedo tubes are not located in the bow of the ship, and for the central control compartment, allowing to place the antenna in the bow of a new sonar system.
