Storm left thousands of people without electricity in the Urals

About 16.5 thousand people on Wednesday evening as a result of thunderstorms were left without electricity in the Sverdlovsk region, now part of consumers already energized, told RIA Novosti on Thursday, the head of the Department of Public Relations of JSC "IDGC of Urals" Dmitry Tyukhtin.

Severe thunderstorms passed Wednesday night in the Sverdlovsk region. The wind increased to 27 meters per second. At present weather situation in the region has improved, but Showers continue.

"Last night, without light remained about 16.5 thousand people," — said the source.

He added that the problem with the power supply in the cities have Sisert, Krasnouralsk and villages Kashino, Upper Sisert and other locations. Now the electricity supply in a number of houses have been restored.

According Tyukhtin, currently the main forces of Power is concentrated in the cities of Nizhny Tagil and Krasnouralsk where ongoing reconstruction work. They employed 24 brigades and 32 units of machinery.

Restoration work will be completed on Thursday before the end of the day, the official added, "IDGC of the Urals."
