The number of fires in Ugra, compared with 2011 increased by 2 times

Number of forest fires in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra from the beginning of fire season reached 1.4 thousand, which is almost two times more than last year, said on Thursday the Department of Natural Resources and the non-oil sector of the economy.

"Since the beginning of the fire season in the forests of Ugra registered 1.4 thousand forest fires with a total area 106.8 thousand hectares. In 2011, on this date there were 670 fires a total area of 33.7 thousand hectares," the report said.

Clarifies that on the morning of Thursday 30 Ugra raging forest fires with a total area over a thousand acres, located five fires in the area of 188.5 hectares.
