About 150 forest fires continue to blaze in the Russian regions

Almost 150 forest fires in the area of 16.8 thousand hectares still blazing in Russia, the head of the Federal Forestry Agency Viktor Maslyakov meeting on combating forest fires in Tomsk.

"As of this morning, August 6 in Russia, there are 149 forest fires in the area of 16 800 hectares. Dynamics reduction positive," — he said.

In total, according to him, the fire season 2012 in Russia arose 17.18 thousands of forest fires on the total area of 1.335 million hectares. The area of forest fires over last year by 13%.

Maslyakov said that by far the greatest number of fires (48) is retained in the Krasnoyarsk region. In the Tomsk region are 27, Yakutia — 15, in Tuva — six forest fires.
