Almost 4.5 thousand hectares of forest continues to burn in Siberia

The situation with forest fires in Siberia over the weekend has not changed — Monday morning wood burning in an area of almost 4.5 thousand hectares, the fires are still registered in the Krasnoyarsk and Tomsk region, according to the District Department of Forestry.

"In the Woodland district are 38 forest fires in the area of 4.466 hectares in the Krasnoyarsk and Tomsk region," — said in a statement.

On Friday, in the Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk Territory was registered 45 forest fires in the area of 3.913 hectares. Another one fire area of 7 hectares each were noted in the Altai Republic and the Irkutsk region.

Over the past few days the area of forest fires in the Krasnoyarsk region increased from 1.208 to 2.866 thousand thousand hectares, while the number decreased from 31 to 28. On fighting forest fires in the region are now involved 950 people, 74 units of fire engines, 19 aircraft.

In the Tomsk region number of the centers over the weekend was reduced from 14 to nine, and the total area of fires — from 2.705 to 1.59 thousand hectares.

In extinguishing forest fires in the area involved 437 people, 15 units of fire equipment, six aircraft.

According to authorities, threatening human settlements and economic facilities in the area do not.

In order to stabilize the forest fire situation persists mode emergency throughout the territory of Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk Krai. Special fire mode (restriction on visiting forests) acts on the entire territory of the Republic of Altai, in two areas of the Trans-Baikal region, in two districts of the Omsk region.
