Emaciated cub rescued orphan game wardens in Primorye

 Game wardens caught in Pozharsky district of Primorye emaciated from hunger-orphan cub, it was decided to send him to a rehabilitation center wildlife in the Khabarovsk region, said on Monday the regional administration.

"Hunters caught a tiger for 60 kilometers from the village Svetlogorye Pozharsky Municipal District of Primorsky Krai. Animal is in serious condition, his body emaciated," — said in a statement.

Notes that the experts of the Department for the protection, control and regulation of wildlife decided to send the cub in wildlife rehabilitation center "cliff" Khabarovsk Krai temporary overexposure to his recovery.

Tiger cub found in Pozharsky district — the third foundling in February. Earlier it was reported last week that the game wardens caught Kavalerovskii's cub, who left without a mother, trying to hunt, but because of the young age was condemned to death. A week earlier in Kavalerovskii district of the region was caught by another half-year-old tiger cub. Young tiger fell into a trap, and specialists had to take her for surgery in Arsenyev town, where she removed the two fingers of the front paws. Then the predator in a depleted state was directed on maintenance of a member of the protection of wildlife in Ussuriysk.

"In one year protection of wildlife experts had found eight Amur tiger, of which seven have survived. Six will be subsequently released into the wild," — said the administration.

Siberian tiger lives in the Russian Far East — the Khabarovsk and Primorsky regions. In the middle of XIX century the Russian population was more than one thousand individuals. Predation and destruction of its habitat has led to the fact that for a hundred years, the number of individuals was reduced to 50, and the Siberian tiger found in the 40-ies of XX century on the brink of extinction. After the measures the population size was increased. Recent surveys show that the predator population has stabilized at around 450 individuals.
