In 2011, exports of vegetables and root crops from Russia increased by 151%

 According to the research firm Intesco Research Group , Russian exports of vegetables and root crops in 2011 in real terms amounted to 650 thousand tons, up 151% over the previous year. In value terms, exports exceeded 263 million U.S. dollars, an increase over the previous year by 264%.

Russian vegetables and root crops are exported to Turkey, India, Australia, Italy, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Germany, Pakistan, the UAE and other countries. More than 70% of Russian exports in 2011 were in three countries: Turkey imported 44.1% of Russian vegetables and root crops, to India had 17% and Austria — 11% of total Russian exports of vegetable growing.

 

In Russia in 2012, there were 4553 enterprises with main activity "Vegetable". By early 2011, the largest enterprises in terms of sales value were: ZAO "Agrokombinat" Moscow ", Moscow State Unitary Enterprise agrocomplex" South ", LLC" Greenhouse complex "May"; GUSP farm "Alexis" of the Republic of Bashkortostan, CJSC Agricultural company "Vyiborzhets"; JSC "Agrokombinat" Greenhouse ".
