In 2012, Dnipropetrovsk and field athletes became winners and won prizes not only Ukrainian, but also international competitions.
In April, the city of Eilat (Israel) took the European championship triathlon for adults and juniors. Dnipropetrovsk athlete Inna Redheads in the relay (mixed) in the Ukrainian team won the bronze medal.
May 27, 2012 in Debrecen (Hungary) student Dnipropetrovsk Higher School of Physical Culture Andriy Govorov won the bronze medal at the European Championships swimming in the 50 meter freestyle. On the same day in the city of Lucerne (Switzerland) representatives of Dnipropetrovsk in the crew of four steam: Yana Dementieva, Anastasia Kozhenkova, Catherine Tarasenko and Natalia Dovgotko won the second stage of the World Cup rowing. The same foursome girls won the Cup in the final of this competition, which was held in June 2012 in Munich (Germany). The main event for this women's crew was getting a gold medal at the XXX Olympic Games in competitions in rowing women's pair crew of four.
Already in September 2012 athletes Dnipropetrovsk won a brilliant victory at the European Championships. After this victory, our women's steam room foursome became the absolute winner of the prestigious competition in 2012.
The most resonance is the fact that for the first time in the history of Ukraine one crew rowing won all the major competitions of the year. The London Olympics athlete Dnipropetrovsk Alexander Friday won a silver medal in the javelin.
At the World Championships in athletics for athletes with hearing, which was held in July in Toronto (Canada), Dnipropetrovsk athletes in the national team of Ukraine took the third place team and won the individual competition in 6 medals: 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze :
- Victoria Kochmarik won the silver medal in the 4×100 meters and the women's 400 meters hurdles.
- Victoria Landina — silver medal in the 4×100 meters,
- Michael and Sergei Eremenko Drach — gold medals in the 4×100 meters,
- Vladimir Danil'chenko — a bronze medal in the triple jump.
December 7, 2012 in Moscow held an international competition for WorkOut-«Cup of Nations 2012". Won the Ukrainian national team, which includes athletes from Dnepropetrovsk:Eugene Kotscherga, Mikhail Kornienko, Ruslan Ogiyko.
