In the 2012 academic year, the Airborne troops took part in 4 international exercises

In the 2012 academic year, military units of the Airborne Troops (VDV) participated in 4 events for international military cooperation.

The most ambitious of these was the joint exercise of military contingents of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (RRF) of the Organization of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) held in September this year in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. It was attended by the paratroopers of the Ivanovo Airborne connections.

In May and June of this year, the division of Russian paratroopers for the first time in history went overseas to conduct joint anti-terrorist exercises with the "Green Berets" Special Operations Forces Army U.S. Army. The teaching took place in the U.S. military base Fort Carson (Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States).

Pskov paratroopers during the year held two joint battalion tactical exercises with units of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. In April, they were on the territory of Belarus (near Grodno), and in September 2012 — on the Russian (in the Pskov region).

Also this year, Russian paratroopers to exchange experience paid visits to their French, German and Ukrainian colleagues. "Blue Berets" were in the Parachute Regiment French Foreign Legion (the island of Corsica, France), in a separate airborne brigade of the Bundeswehr (city of Saarlouis, Germany), as well as the location of the airmobile regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Lviv.

Participation in the activities of international airborne military cooperation will continue in the next year. Thus, the Marines plan to attract joint exercise "Interaction 2013" with military contingents RRF CSTO member-states, they will take part in the return of the Russian-American anti-terrorism exercises in the Russian-French teaching units with the parachute regiment of the Foreign Legion of the French Republic.
