New Zealand interested in the Customs Union

Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan as members of the Customs Union intend to conclude before the end of 2011 a free trade agreement with New Zealand.

"The Minister Foreign Affairs Belarus Sergei Martynov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanar Aytzhanova, and the Minister of Trade of New Zealand Tim Groser agreed to start negotiations on the conclusion of a complex between the said States Free Trade Agreement, "- Interfax reported the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The upcoming talks with representatives of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs called "an important step in the development of the Customs Union and its integration into the international economic and trade relations."

The ministers of the four countries have instructed their representatives to begin negotiations to conclude an agreement before the end of 2011a.
