An earthquake measuring 5.3 points occurred in Egypt

An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale occurred on Friday in northern Egypt, according to Egyptian media.

Following the earthquake, no injuries, destruction of residential buildings also were noted.

According to the director of the National Center of Geophysical Research of Egypt Professor Hatem Auda, tremors were observed in the early morning on Friday, they were felt in several provinces in the north of the country and the second largest city of Egypt — Alexandria.

The epicenter was located in the Mediterranean Sea at a depth of 10 kilometers, about 150 kilometers east of Alexandria.
