Area of forest fires in Siberia almost halved

 The area of forest fires in Siberia for the past day almost halved — to 38 acres, according to the District Department of Forestry.

"Today, the district has seven forest fires in the area of 38 hectares in the Republic of Buryatia, the Tomsk region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory," — said in a statement.

Monday morning in the forest districts were five centers on the area of 62 hectares. In the past days by the Forest Service eliminated 19 new and previously recorded forest fires in the area of 152 ha.

At present, according to the agency, threats settlements and economy in the area do not.

In order to stabilize the forest fire situation persists fire mode (restriction on visiting forest) across the Trans-Baikal region and the Tomsk region.
