Area of forest fires in Siberia reduced to 20 hectares

The area of forest fires in Siberia over the weekend dropped nearly 20 times — up to 20 acres, said on Monday the District Department of Forestry.

"In the Republic of Buryatia were six forest fires in the area of 16 hectares, in the Irkutsk region — one fire in the area of 3 hectares, the current Trans-Baikal region remains one fire on an area of 1 hectare," — said in a statement.

On Friday there were six forest fires in the area 387 hectares in Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal region.

The Office notes that the threats settlements and economy in the area do not.

In order to stabilize the forest fire situation remains special fire mode (restriction on visiting forest) across the Trans-Baikal region, in three regions of Buryatia.
