Maritime Company "Mortrans" on Thursday suspended flights in passenger boats and ferries to the islands and in the suburban Bay Vladivostok because of the snow storm, told RIA Novosti the company.
On Wednesday GUMCHS issued an emergency report that on February 7 on the coast of the region is expected snowfall, accompanied by strong wind gusts that reached 23 meters per second in some areas — up to 25-30 meters.
"Because of the strong wind gusts that reached 23 meters per second, it was decided to cancel all passenger flights on the island of Vladivostok, as well as the Cape Churkin. Movement boats and ferries in such dangerous conditions," — said the source.
According to him, the ferry will resume after the storm warning will be removed.
