In 2011, Russian gas will be supplied to Belarus at a price fixed in the formula of the contract, rather than at the level of the current year, as urged the Belarusian side. This statement was made by the chairman of "Gazprom" Alexey Miller in talks with First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko November 30 in Moscow.
As the site of "Gazprom", the parties summed up the results of cooperation in 2010. In particular, they discussed the supply and transit of gas, as well as the work of a joint gas transport company "Beltransgaz". "The meeting reviewed plans for 2011. Noted that the delivery price will be determined by the formula in full compliance with the contract," — said in a statement.
The contract between "Gazprom" and "Beltransgaz" was signed for the period 2007 to 2011 inclusive. According to the document, in 2008-2010 in Belarus were and are reduction factors to the price of gas, and since 2011 the country has to pay for gas at a price that ensures equal profitability with supplies to Europe.
However, in a statement on the website of "Gazprom" is not specified, or agreed with this interpretation of the Belarusian side. It should be noted that the Belarusian state news agency Belta gave information about the meeting the head of "Gazprom" and the First Vice-Premier of Belarus under the heading "Semashko and Miller discussed the supply and transit of Russian gas."
November 28 in an interview on "RTR-Belarus' Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said: "We defended the position that, in 2011, for Belarus wasmaximally protect prices in 2010. "In recent meetings with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin Belarusian side defended this position, the Prime Minister added.
"We proceed from the fact that today and on the spot market in the EU gas prices for the same in Germany on 15-20% lower than what we have today on the contract — said Sidorsky. — "Gazprom" allowed in the contract with Germany to buy some of the gas is not from "Gazprom" and on the spot market. A purchase gas on the spot market, not from "Gazprom", at lower prices — this is reality. Thus, the price of gas by 15-20% cheaper, "- said the Prime Minister.
Now Belarus buys gas for about 193 dollars. The fact that the price of gas for Belarus for 2011 will amount to 210-220 dollars per thousand cubic meters, earlier said First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko. Some media reports also emerged that in 2011 the Russian gas Belarus will cost $ 250 per thousand cubic meters.
