In Elabuge (Tatarstan) began production of Ford Explorer

Company Ford-Sollers (a joint venture of Ford Motor Company and the Russian automaker, "Sollers") on April 11 launched a production car Ford Explorer full-cycle plant in Elabuge. Previously, the company carried out a large-unit assembly machines.

According to company president Ted Kannisa for 2012 in the Ford Sollers started the production of the five models for the Russian market: Ford Transit, S-MAX, Galaxy, Kuga and Explorer. SKD Explorer plant in Elabuge began in 2012. Thus, along with the Focus and Mondeo, manufactured at the plant in Vsevolozhsk near St. Petersburg, the total number of models produced by Ford Sollers joint venture in Russia, to seven.

At the plant in Tatarstan, located in the SEZ "Alabuga", today running 1.5 thousand people, 500 more jobs (both engineering and business majors) was discovered in connection with the expansion of production.  

The first car that came off the assembly line, Ford Explorer Sport was made in the color scheme of the Frozen White. This model is presented in the Russian market, the engine is equipped with twin-turbo EcoBoost 3,5-V6 with an output of 360 horsepower and a 6-step "automatic» SelectShift. Externally, the car stands out thanks to a black 20-inch alloy wheels and black decor element.
