For several years scientists have puzzled over the cause of re-blooming chestnut trees. And they found the culprit — a 3-mm chestnut mole. Microscopic butterfly was first introduced in Europe 25 years ago. Infected trees can be identified by the color of rusty leaves. Pests, eating leaves, break the inner loop of chestnuts. This, say the scientists, and again re-bloom.
