More than 7,000 hectares of forest burning in SiberiaNOVOSIBIRSK, June 18 — RIA Novosti, Dmitry Mikhalev. "As of June 18 in the Siberian Federal District operates 121 forest fires on an area of 7.35 thousand hectares (down 971.8 hectares), of which 43 localized focus on the area of 4000 hectares," — said in a statement.

There are five areas of forest fires in the area of 3.14 hectares, including two localized fire in the area of 2.25 hectares. Of those in Krasnoyarsk three fires (North-Yenisei region, Irbeysky area) and two fires in the Irkutsk region (Ust-Ilim area Nizhneilimskiy district). Proliferation threat to human settlements there.

The main cause of the fires — the activity of the local population and dry thunderstorms.

To eliminate the existing centers in just the past day attracts over 2500 people and 391 vehicles.

Aviation MES (Mi-8) was involved to transport troops in the Trans-Baikal and Krasnoyarsk territories. Made 19 sorties, spanned 81 lifeguard.
