In Kazan launched a bond 4th generation LTE technology

Today in Kazan was a revolutionary event in the world of mobile Internet technology. In the capital of Tatarstan launched the fourth-generation technologies LTE.

This was reported today at a presentation at the IT Park. Tatarstan — the republic, where the state level actively supported the introduction and development of Internet technologies.

"Kazan is one of the leaders in the implementation of the latest Internet technologies, — said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan — Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov. — Now, residents of the city will be able to use the most modern technology of data transfer — LTE ».

He also noted that even a slight increase in the speed of access to the Internet affects the productivity of the population, and as a result, the growth of GRP.
"The development of broadband access to the Internet (broadband) — is an important task for the state, because we want every citizen was modern communication services. There are statistics that every 10 percent broadband penetration increases GDP by 1.38 percent, in particular, by increasing the productivity of labor, and a doubling of the speed of access to the network gives to the country's GDP growth at 0.3 percent, "- said Roman Shaikhutdinov.

Recall, the first attempt to launch a technology took place exactly two years ago — Aug. 30, 2010. Then, for several reasons commercial operation has been suspended. Today there was a restart, and now has more participants in the process. The launch of the technology announced just three operator "MegaFon», Yota and "MTS".

According to the operators, it is time for new business models. Due to the fact that the infrastructure is owned by a single company, and others operate on the principle of a "virtual operator" the competition will no longer determined by the infrastructure, there will be a "race" for the number of base stations and so on. The advantages will be marketing policy, the level of service.

Quality coverage in the city provides 118 base stations. Until the end of 2012 their number should increase by a further 42. This will achieve 100 per cent coverage in the city and extend coverage through the suburbs. In the first half of 2013, the LTE network will be launched in Naberezhnye Chelny and Almetyevsk.

"The launch of 4G will not affect plans for the development of third-generation networks in Tatarstan, since the potential of this standard has not been exhausted," — said one of the operators.
Modems all three operators are already available on the market, and their price ranges from 1900 to 2900 rubles. By the way, a new generation of modems supports all the previous ones.
