The artist took off like a man all superficial, all unnecessary, evil and disturbing, hugged him and land a tender look of love and thought deeply. And to think deeply, I want something prozrevaya silence to no sound, no rustling did not violate this deep human thought.

Roerich Pact and Banner of Peace
In his philosophical and artistic governmental essays Roerich creates an entirely new concept of culture based on the ideas of the Living Ethics. Culture, according to Nicholas Roerich, is closely linked to the problems of space and the evolution of humanity is the greatest pillar of this process. Culture rests on Beauty and Knowledge wrote. And repeating the famous phrase of Dostoevsky with a small correction: Awareness of Beauty will save the world. The beauty of a man known only through culture, part of which is creativity. This is stated in the books of Living Ethics, directly involved in the creation of which took Roerich. Helena recorded and displayed the Nicholas Roerich Living Ethics ideas in images.
A broad definition of Culture Nicholas Roerich included a synthesis of the best achievements of the human spirit in the field of religious experience, science, art and education. Nicholas Roerich formulated the fundamental difference between the cultures of civilization. If culture is related to the spiritual world of man in his creative self-expression, civilization is only an external arrangement of human life in all its material, civil aspects. Identification of civilization and culture, Nicholas Roerich argued, leads to confusion of these concepts to the underestimation of the spiritual factor in human development. He wrote that wealth alone does not give Culture. But the expansion and refinement of thought and sense of beauty that gives sophistication, the generosity of spirit that distinguish a man of culture. That he can build a brighter future for their country. Based on this, mankind must not only develop a culture, but also must protect.
In 1929, Nicholas Roerich in collaboration with Dr. international law and political science, University of Paris G. Shklyaverom prepare a draft Treaty on the Protection of Cultural Property (Roerich Pact). A few years after the war, the Roerich Pact played an important role in shaping the international marketing rights norms and social activities in the field of cultural heritage. In 1949, the 4 th session of the UNESCO General Conference, it was decided to start work on the international marketing rights to regulate the protection of cultural property during armed conflict.
