"The reason for the creation of protected area was the discovery of rare plant species of the orchid family on Mount Beloglinka listed in the Red Book of Yakutia and Russia", — said the representative of the Ministry.
He said that in 2008, at Mount Beloglinka found three species of plants — the shoes of the orchid family, which are rare in nature (slipper, slipper macranthon, shoe spotted).
In the years that have been found are four species of the orchid family, two species of which (shlemonosny orchid, Calypso bulbosa), listed in the Red Book of Russia.
Initiated the creation of the reserve became public ecological organization "Chayanda" and students who conducted research projects.
Created Resource Reserve in the south-eastern part of the Lena area on the area 417 hectares. The reserve covers an area of the top of the southern and western sides of the mountain Beloglinka.
