Plane being converted by Embraer to accommodate the radar with an active phased array (Active Electronically Scanned Array-AESA), developed by the organization of defense research and development of India (Defence Research & Development Organization-DRDO). It is expected that it will begin flying in 2014. Two platforms are designed for different roles, one involves long flights over long distances, and the other is used in the main for the least long-term missions in the middle distance.
