Atlantis found in the Spanish marshes

A group of researchers claims that managed to finally locate the fabled city of Atlantis. Atlantis, the researchers speculated, was buried under a layer of water as a result of the devastating tsunami that swept thousands of years ago in the south of Spain.

Data obtained through the radar, digital mapping and other technical innovations have allowed experts to identify the whole city, hidden away under the swamps of Dona Ana Park — north of the town of Cadiz, writes Batangas Today. Complex of buildings built in the form of concentric rings — in strict accordance with the description of the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, through which reached us information about Atlantis.

"What we found is that nobody has ever been able to see, — said the head of the research team, Professor Richard Freund, University of Hartford. — These are undoubtedly of interest to archaeologists and give a much greater sense of our quest."

The main direction from which repelled the scientists in his research, have become historical records dating back to 360 BC. The Greek philosopher Plato 2.6 thousand years ago, described Atlantis as "an island situated in front of the Pillars of Hercules." According to him, the civilization of Atlantis was destroyed in one day, and the city of Atlantis forever disappeared under the water column. According to these descriptions, a team of archaeologists and geologists focused their attention on the Atlantic and in the Mediterranean — and, in the end, they got lucky.

To convince the representatives of the research team, led to the destruction of Atlantis disaster similar to the Tsunami disaster in Portugal in November 1755, when the neighborhoods of Lisbon wave swept up a ten-house. An important part of the historical puzzle is an increased background of methane over the ancient ruins. Gas release, the researchers reported, suggests that this place overnight killed a great number of people.

Like many residents of the Portuguese capital, some inhabitants of Atlantis survived the disaster, scientists were of the opinion. Survivors later built a "Memorials" — stone structures, shaped like a city found in the swamps under Cadiz — they found in different places and at different times. "If the investigation of crimes you need to look for traces of money, then you should find archeology stones" — said Freund.

In accordance with the known historical myth, the island (archipelago or even continent) Atlantis was located in the modern Atlantic Ocean and one day down on the seabed in the earthquake and floods, together with its residents — the Atlanteans. For the first time, this legend was outlined in Plato's dialogues "Timaeus" and "Critias" referring to the ancient tradition. Plato dated the time of the disaster with the words "nine thousand years ago," that is, about 9500 BC. He placed directly behind the Atlantis Strait of Gibraltar, off the coast of Spain and Morocco today.

In academic circles, the story of Atlantis for many years was regarded as a myth, a legend, formed on the basis of any real memories of the ancient catastrophe. City of Atlantis has been repeatedly "found" in various places, including in the Black Sea, near the Canary Islands, and even in Antarctica. However, until now no one researcher could not provide strong evidence of the scientific community to find its identity.
