Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Russian Academy of Sciences plans to open July 1 in the center of Novosibirsk Akademgorodok square with a two-meter bronze statue of laboratory mouse that will keep his paws knitting needles of the DNA chain. This is reported by members of the Institute.
Who is collecting donations for the project. According to some reports, the production of the monument, park with paths and benches will cost 1.7 million rubles. According to experts, the monument will be reminded of the contributions made to the development of laboratory animal science. Next to be installed stands devoted to discoveries made by rodents.
"DNA — is information. To create the information it needs to know. The author of the monument is sculptor Alexei Agrikolyansky.
