6.2 magnitude earthquake recorded on Sunday near the border of Chile and Peru, the site of the U.S. Geological Survey.
Quake was registered at 12.31 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time, 15.31 MSK). The epicenter of the earthquake was located 93 kilometers east of the city with tanks and 110 kilometers north-east of the Chilean city of Arica. The earthquake lies at a depth of 87 kilometers.
"There were no reports of victims or damage to infrastructure has been received," — said the agency spokesman state emergency services at the Interior of Chile (ONEMI).
However, the Chilean National Metallurgical Corporation of Codelco, which owns facilities in the earthquake area, said that there is no damage from the elements, the works are in the normal mode.
Earthquake, magnitude six and higher, is strong and can lead to loss of life and destruction, seismologists say.
