Forecasters have declared an emergency alert due to expected in the next two days of heavy snowfall, blizzards and drifts on the roads, said Tuesday the regional GUMCHS.
"According to the Hydrometeorological Novosibirsk, in the afternoon on February 26 and February 27 night of snow is expected, prolonged snowstorms, strong winds up to 17-22 meters per second, the snow drifts on the roads," — said in a statement.
Rescuers warn that due to the bad weather may cause emergency situations related to damage (breakage) communication and power lines, falling insecure structures, failures on power systems and utilities, disruption of transport, traffic and public services, increasing the number of road accidents.
"The public need to be careful, to circumvent the broken wires and fear swinging shutters, signs, banners. Not park cars under the old, decrepit trees and poorly fortified constructions" — reported in the MOE.
Motorists urged rescuers to keep your distance, speed, and to be extremely careful on the roads.
As noted earlier in the Novosibirsk weather center, this winter in the region has entered the top ten snowiest in 100 years.
