Flash floods hit the north of Turkey

The heavy rain, which began early Friday morning caused flooding in the Horde in the Black Sea region of Turkey.

Governor Orhan Dyuzpyun said that the square meter of land has dropped 90 kg of precipitation, which is about 9 inches. "This is the worst disaster that struck our city over the past 50 years", — said the governor.

Heavy rain started around 2:00 am and lasted until dawn, making the two local rivers, and Aziziyya Shahindzhili, overflowed. Flood waters have flooded roads and streets in the old part of town.
