Kazakhstan will acquire 20 EC725 helicopters

European company Eurocopter (part of United EADS) May 10, 2012 issued a press release stating that at the time held from 3 to 6 May in Astana defense exhibition KADEX-2012 the Kazakh government signed a letter of understanding for the acquisition of 20 medium multi-role helicopters, Eurocopter EC725 Cougar for the Ministry of Defence of the Republic. Details of the agreement are not given, but states that helicopters should be collected in Kazakhstan (apparently made in the facilities of the joint venture in Astana Eurocopter Kazakhstan Engineering, which should also be collected helicopters Eurocopter EC145). It also reported that the government of Kazakhstan has previously elected mufti version of ES725 (helicopter EC225 Super Puma) for VIP-transport.

This is the third agreement Kazakhstan to purchase military aircraft production EADS. Previously signed an agreement on acquisition (From the side chastchnoy in Kazakhstan) 45 medium multi-role helicopters Eurocopter EC145 (started delivery in late 2011, to the true time put 6 cars) and a contract for the purchase of 2-military transport aircraft Airbus Military C-295M with a memorandum of understanding on acquisition 6 more such machines. On KADEX-2012 Deputy Secretary of Defense Kazakhstan Major General Talgat Zhanzhumenov also said the ongoing talks with EADS for the acquisition of "up to 4" of new medium military transport aircraft Airbus Military A400M.
