Tropical storm "Kirk" (Kirk) increased to the first category of the hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale, according to the website of the National Center warnings about hurricanes USA.

At the moment, the wind speed at the center of the hurricane is 120 miles per hour. The hurricane is moving at a speed of about 12 kilometers per hour and currently is 1.7 thousand kilometers to the north-east of the island Livardskih.

According to the National Center for Prevention of storms the U.S., "Kirk" is the fifth hurricane to form in Atlintike this year. Meteorologists say that in the next 48 hours, the hurricane may increase.

Tropical storms are named when the speed of an accompanying wind reaches 62 miles per hour. Storm becomes a hurricane when wind speed exceeds 119 kilometers per hour.
