New cases of cholera reported in Mariupol, Ukrainian

KIEV, July 11 — RIA Novosti, Alain Mate. Two new cases of cholera reported in Mariupol, Ukrainian, said on Monday the Donetsk regional SES.

The first cases of cholera in Mariupol were registered at the end of May. In Mariupol was foiled beach season as bathing banned due to infection.

"As of July 11 in the city of Mariupol reported two new cases of cholera in adults," — said in a statement.

Total in Mariupol registered 22 cases of cholera caused by Vibrio cholerae serogroup O1, biovar El Tor Ogawa serovars and nine cases of a carrier of the same pathogen in clinically healthy individuals.

Nineteen patients and nine carriers in connection with recovery after treatment and the outcome is negative for cholera research issued. Today in Mariupol continues treatment, three patients, their health — stable.

Preventive and anti-epidemic measures to contain and eliminate the source of cholera in Mariupol continues. The city has a commission of experts of regional sanitary-epidemiological station and the main department of health.
