Opened in St Petersburg University for compatriots living abroad

To participate in the project are invited fellow 70 of the 15 countries — the teachers and specialists in the history of Russia. The delegations formed by diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation in the countries of residence of the participants.

The program of the University of 2012 is dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the birth of Russian statehood and the 200th anniversary of the Russian victory in the Patriotic War of 1812.
The project started in 2003 and is one of the most popular Russian compatriots of the CIS and the Baltic Sea. The goal — the establishment of scientific and social ties with compatriots — specialists in the history and culture of Russia. The peculiarity of the University is to combine intensive lectures and cultural programs. Participants will visit museums, exhibitions, libraries of St. Petersburg. In the preparation of the content of the program selects the new main theme, which has great historical extent, and are still relevant, including, for modern Russia.
Up to 20 October, the students will be presented lectures covering the entire period of Russian history — from the beginning of Russian statehood to modern times. Each lecture — this is a unique authoring, specially prepared by leading experts of St. Petersburg-based research and previously unpublished in the form of public lectures, reports or scientific articles. At the end of the project students are awarded a certificate and commemorative certificates.
