Because of the magnetic storm aurorae observed at mid-latitudes

A series of powerful flares from active region 1283, took place last week, has led to a protracted magnetic storms on Earth. Intense flux of solar plasma worked around the near-Earth space. Over the weekend, a magnetic storm celebrated all geophysical observatory. Disturbances of the magnetic field began on Friday evening and continues to the present. The maximum intensity was in the Friday evening and reached G3 — strong magnetic storm (on a five point scale). Auroras have been observed even in the mid-latitudes. In particular, the United States saw the glow of the ionosphere in Michigan, Washington (state), Wisconsin, Vermont, Montana, Minnesota, North and South Dakota. All this — the latitude of Kiev and Rostov-on-Don. This photo was taken on the shore of Lake Superior (Michigan)
