Downpours led to flooding in Kashkadarya region

ASHKENT, April 23 — RIA Novosti, Abu-Ali Niyazmatov. Dozens of houses in several villages south Shahrisabz district Kashkadarya region were inundated by floods caused by rains, write Uzbek media on Monday.

"The strong rain showers, the last on April 22 villages Urmontepa, Dungkishlok Korapoycha and located at the foot of the mountains, led to flooding, resulting in the homes of local residents were under water," — says the publication.

It is reported that "the flood victims are not, by the rescue residents in the affected communities were evacuated to safe areas."

Measures are being taken to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.
