Geneva airport resumed work after an interruption due to snowfall

 Geneva Cointrin International Airport resumed work after an interruption due to snowfall hit the city, but the departure of the majority of flights delayed by an average of two to three hours.

"Despite the bad weather, Geneva airport is now open. Meanwhile, many flights are delayed or canceled. We recommend to contact your airline representatives for more information," — said in a communique.

Cointreau guide also recommends that passengers arrive at the airport two hours before departure.

The new airport, scheduled for 06.00 local time (09.00 MSK) was first deferred to 0700, and then to 09.15. After that, the airport began sending aircraft cleared to land at around 11:00.

Earlier, airport spokesman Bertrand Shtempfli reported that the runways dropped at least 15 inches of snow.
