The Belarusian side has decided not to renew the mandate of the OSCE Office in Minsk. Commenting on the decision of the official Minsk co-chair of the campaign "For Free Elections" Sergei Kalyakin called it ill-conceived and counter-productive.
"This is a stupid decision of the authorities. Problems that were opened when the OSCE office in Minsk, remained. Moreover, they worsened. Presence office is especially necessary, when the political cleansing in the country, with prisoners and ex-candidates are preparing to process 26 — to . Office could affect these processes. But the authorities do not need these eyes. I think this decision will adversely affect the Belarus relations with the European Union and, in general, with the West. "
