Wind, rain and hail may cause emergency in the European part of Russia

Strong wind, rain, hail and frost are possible Tuesday in the European part of Russia, it can cause disruption to energy facilities, communications, and utilities, the problems on the roads.

As follows from the operational forecast Emergencies Ministry on August 21, in the Belgorod and Voronezh regions expected strong winds with gusts up to 20 meters per second.

In southern Russia, in Adygea and Krasnodar predicted heavy rain, tornadoes, wind gusts could reach as 20 meters per second. The same adverse weather conditions are possible in the North Caucasus in Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria and North Ossetia.

Hail, rain and wind gusts of up to 21 meters per second are projected in the Volga region: in Chuvashia and Nizhny Novgorod region.

In the north-west of the country, in the Leningrad and Vologda regions, frosts are expected to minus two degrees Celsius.

"In the European part of Russia is likely disrupts energy, communications and utilities, traffic violations" — warns MOE.
