Heavy rainfall in the central Nigerian state of Plateau caused floods that killed at least 35 people, reports on Monday, Agence France-Presse, with reference to the local branch of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Flooding began after rains led to a blurring of the dam.
"We found the bodies of 35 people who drowned last night. Flooded or destroyed about 200 homes," — said the representative of the Red Cross.
Other details of the incident are not given.
