According to members of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, Belarus "was the victim of unprecedented intensity and cynical campaign of lies, slander, blackmail, political, diplomatic and economic pressure." They claim that foreign policy, "without having reliable information about the events that took place in Minsk on December 19, 2010, made a clear conclusion about the alleged voter fraud, as well as excessive use of force against the participants in the so-called purely peaceful rally protesters."
