The program GCV was started in 2009 after the cessation of work on the "Future Combat Systems» (Future Combat Systems — FCS). Past month back tests are part of the work on the second direction. So as new BMPs should go to the troops already in 2017, and the development of modern machines may take even longer time, it was decided again to compare and check the available types of vehicles. For the role in the program were invited to outright five companies that submitted five armored vehicles. The large spread in the properties — both in running and in combat — allows you to make the appropriate conclusions and further develop effective form BMP future. Naturally, it is unlikely either of what the various machines will be a model for all the characteristics of a promising design, but it will elect the general direction of development.
