An earthquake with magnitude 5.5 occurred near the Commander Islands

Earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred in the Pacific Ocean near the Commander Islands, reports Geophysical Service RAS.

The epicenter was registered on Saturday night, was located 80 kilometers north-west of the regional center of the Aleutian Region Kamchatka — Nicholas sat on Bering Island at a depth of 33 kilometers under the seabed.

Commander residents felt tremors around 3 points. No casualties or damage, the threat of a tsunami has not been announced.
