In Helsinki, the ceremony of naming the icebreaker supply, built with the assistance of FAZ

Naming ceremony multifunctional icebreaking supply vessel, which was called "Alexei Chirikov," was held in Helsinki on 11 April 2013. Construction of the ships — a joint project of Russian and Finnish shipbuilders in the face of shipyards Arctech Helsinki Shipyard and Vyborg Shipyard.

Icebreaking supply vessel "Alexei Chirikov" is the second ship of a series of two vessels, which Arctech Helsinki Shipyard JSC and "Vyborg Shipyard" built by OAO "Sovcomflot". The lead ship of supply "Vitus Bering," was transferred to the customer in December 2012. 


The modern multipurpose vessels of the series will be used in the Far Eastern seas of Russia. In particular, these icebreakers-supply vessels will ensure smooth operation of oil platforms in the Sea of Okhotsk in the field A-D in the framework of the project "Sakhalin-1".
