Russia has resumed oil supplies to Belarus

Told BelaPAN official representative of the Russian pipeline company "Transneft" Igor Demin. In his delivery are conducted in both Belarusian refineries — Novopolotsk and Mozyr.

According to the information previously reported, the Belarusian side has conceded in a dispute with Russia on the price of oil.

In accordance with the intergovernmental agreement on the distribution of export duties on Dec. 9 2010, January 1, Belarus may buy Russian oil and oil products without paying duties. Belarus has already agreed with Russia to import this year, 21.7 million tons of oil, including 18 million tons of pipelines.

However, the parties could not agree on a price. Russian oil companies have offered to lay a tax-free oil pricing formula, an extra 45 dollars per ton. According to their estimates, it will provide for the equal profitability in the supply of crude oil and petroleum products for export to Belarus and other countries.

Because of the controversy surrounding these additional payments from the beginning of the new year, the Russian oil to Belarus has been reported. Belarusian oil refineries were threatened with termination.
